Sewing Mends The Soul
👋Hello and welcome to Scrappy Annie's!
I'm Annie, and this little corner of the quilting world is my labor of love.
My path to quilting was a winding road, to say the least. As a kid, I was in awe of my Grandma's sewing and dreamt of crafting just like her. But life, as it often does, led me down a different road. It took a deeply challenging time, battling feelings of loneliness, depression, and anxiety, for me to seek refuge in something familiar yet unexplored—sewing.
My first quilt
was more than just a project; it was the first step towards healing
and rediscovering myself. Initially, cutting beautiful fabrics into
pieces mirrored my own fragmented life—once whole, now scattered.
Yet, as those pieces formed a new, intricate beauty, my outlook
transformed. I realized that if I could create harmony from these
fragments of fabric, I could do the same with my life's metaphorical
pieces.
Quilting showed me the beauty in piecing together something new from
the remnants of the past. It's not just about stitching fabric; it's
about weaving the scattered parts of ourselves into a loving tapestry of
healing and hope.
Over the years,
I've pieced together not just fabrics but my life into a vibrant
mosaic, unique and different from what it once was. My quilting
journey, woven with heart and soul, might not span decades, but it's
the essence of Scrappy Annie's. This journey has taught me the
transformative power of quilting—not only as a craft but as a
pathway to healing.
At Scrappy Annie's, I aim to share this power with you. Whether you're here for
the high-quality fabrics or seeking inspiration for your next project, I want you to know that quilting can be more than creating;
it can be a form of self-expression and healing.
I believe that the best quilts are not just made; they're nurtured from the first stitch to the last, and so should be the experience of
finding the perfect fabric.
